Tim Wadsworth Qualifies for Reelection on ALGOP's First Qualifying Day

 

HOOVER, Ala. — State Rep. Tim Wadsworth officially qualified on the morning of January 5, 2026 as a Republican candidate for reelection to the Alabama House of Representatives, District 14, at the Alabama Republican Party headquarters in Hoover.

Wadsworth has represented House District 14 since 2014, which includes portions of Cullman, Jefferson, Walker, and Winston counties.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the people of District 14,” Rep. Wadsworth said. “It has been an honor to represent our communities, and I look forward to building on the progress we’ve made." During his time in office, Wadsworth has focused on bringing money back to the district to support volunteer fire departments, public education, infrastructure, local nonprofits, and rural health facilities. Tim has also been an advocate for lowering the state grocery tax and strengthening the quality of life in Alabama’s small towns.

Wadsworth's experience as an attorney, accountant, and current member of the Alabama legislature positions him to continue in his role and effectively represent the people in Montgomery.

A Record of Service:

  • Secured healthcare facilities in Arley, Double Springs, and Nauvoo and helped support ambulance services for Winston County
  • Secured public school funding for West Point, Meek, Addison, Lynn, Double Springs, Parrish, Oakland, Carbon Hill, Sumiton, Corner. and Bagley
  • Secured funding for Looney’s Ampitheater Complex and Cultural Center in Double Springs
  • Formed 501(c)(3) organizations for community groups in Townley, Carbon Hill, Cordova, Ashridge, and Winston Rescue so they can work to secure grants
  • Raised the standard deduction for joint filers and single filers, which offered immediate relief to working families
  • Lowered the State sales tax on food from 4% to 2% with an ultimate goal of 0%.
  • Raised the exemption for Business Personal Property from no exemption to $100,000 and eliminated the minimum tax from $110 to $0 for corporations and limited liability companies

If re-elected, Tim Wadsworth pledges to:

  • Continue advocating for fiscal responsibility at the state level.
  • Expand access to quality education, healthcare, and public safety throughout House District 14.
  • Promote economic and community development through partnerships with local businesses, industry, and nonprofit organizations.

Tim Wadsworth is joined in service by his wife, Dr. Nicole Jones Wadsworth, who is a business leader and site selector from Huntsville and a candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Alabama. Together they share a commitment to community service, conservative principles, and faith. Their children are often seen alongside them at civic events, which highlights the emphasis they place on family and public service.
